Student Leadership Teams: Students in all grade levels are encouraged to apply to be a part of any one of the variety of Student Leadership Teams, which may include Environmental Team, Technology Team, Tutoring Team, and Library Leaders.  Student Leaders are expected to consistently demonstrate leadership characteristics and the ability to exhibit The 7 Habits to others.

Student Lighthouse Team: 4th and 5th grade students are encourage to apply.  Student members of the lighthouse team thoroughly understand and practice The 7 Habits.  They will work closely with Dollahan’s Staff Lighthouse Team, planning leadership events and opportunities throughout the year.  This team helps to ensure Dollahan’s consistency as a Leader in Me school.

Trimester Student Awards: Each trimester, teachers select students to receive the following awards: Academic Excellence, Academic Progress, and Outstanding Citizenship.  Students can also earn recognition for above average Grade Point Averages.  Students can earn Honor Roll (3.00 – 3.99 GPA, no C’s or lower) or Principal’s Honor Roll (4.00 GPA) based on their report card grades each trimester.  Students may also achieve perfect attendance for the entire trimester if they have no absences or tardies at the conclusion of the trimester.

Annual Science Fair: Individual Science Fair recipients and class entries receive certificates of participation.  Outstanding projects at each grade level are submitted to the District Science Fair.

Annual Art Fair: Each year in the spring, all schools are requested to submit art work to be judged at the District’s Annual Art Fair.  Our school will first conduct its own Art Fair to determine the best pieces of art to submit to the district level competition.  All participants will receive a certificate of recognition for participating.

STEM Bowl: Students in 5th grade may compete at the district level as a participant in the RUSD STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Bowl.  Top performers in these areas are selected from a range of students by the 5th grade teachers.  Students are given an opportunity to conduct science experiments and work collaboratively to complete science activities.  Top winners earn trophies and individual medals.
